Serviced Campgrounds

There aren't many fully serviced campgrounds, most are in town.  In 2007 an amendment to the municipal bylaw was passed prohibiting ATVs to ride on roads within the Municipality click here for a link to the bylaw. The Quad Squad is currently lobbying the Municipality to have this amendment revoked.  Any comments or views on this bylaw change can be directed to the Municipality.  The private camping places generally do not allow ATVs to ride into the campground:

Bellecrest Community Association - Located along Highway #3 in Bellevue. Tap water, firepits and picnic tables, 23 sites, open year round - no fee donation towards campground maintenance gratefully accepted.

Beaver Mines Lake - Located 30 kms southeast of Bellevue on the Westcastle Road. 107 sites.

Castle Falls - Located south of the Crowsnest Pass off secondary highway 774 past the Castle River bridge campsite. 47 sites.

Castle River Bridge - Located about 23 kms south of the Crowsnest Pass off secondary highway 774, near the Beaver Mines Lake turn-off. 30 sites, some beside the Castle River.

Allison Chinook Lake - Located in Allison recreation area, about 12 kms north west of Coleman. 74 sites, above the lake and at lakeside. No extra services.

Dutch Creek - Located 30 kms north of Coleman on Kananaskis Highway. 42 Sites, some are located beside Dutch Creek.

Livingstone Falls - Located 60 kms north of Coleman on the Kananaskis Highway. 21 Sites.

Oldman River - Located 40 kms north of Coleman on Kananaskis Highway. 10 Sites.

Racehorse Creek - Located 23 kms north of Coleman on Kananaskis Highway. 37 sites.

Lynx Creek - Located off Highway 774, turn off at Castle River bridge or take the Adanac Road south of Hillcrest. 30 Sites.

Beauvais Lake Provincial Park - Located south of the Crowsnest Pass on Highway 507. 85 sites. Open May 1 to October 31. Tap water, firewood, public phone, boat launch and beach.

Lundbreck Falls Recreation Area - Located west of the town of Lundbreck on a loop road off Highway #3. 53 sites, some beside the Crowsnest River. Pump water and firewood available. No service.

Island Lake - Located about 1 km from the B.C. border. Open year round. 35 sites. Picnic tables, picnic shelter, no services.

Syncline Group Camp - Located about 1 km from Castle River Ranger Station. Special group rates.
