Atlas is located north of Highway 3 and is one of the most popular staging areas because of how many trails are in the area. To find Atlas, head west of Coleman on Highway 3 until you see a sign that says "Chinook Lake Recreation Area", follow a paved road north of the highway until you cross a cattleguard where the road turns to gravel. Continue straight about 2 km until you come to a large meadow with a loading ramp and outhouses. Random camping is available in this area. Please remember your random camping pass. Almost certainly you'll meet a few dozen families camping, a good many will be members of our club.
